Amy Rose is, along with Knuckles the Echidna, the tritagonist of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise.
In the English version, she is voiced by Lynn Harris in Sonic the Hedgehog CD and Jennifer Douillard between 1999 and 2004. Lisa Ortiz then started voicing Amy in Shadow the Hedgehog, then was replaced by Cindy Robinson in 2010. In the Netflix series, Sonic Prime, she is voiced by Shannon Chan-Kent.
What Makes Her a Shojo Heroine?[]
Heroic/Honorable: Amy has redeemed Shadow the Hedgehog and Gamma without relying on her own resources.
Kind/Gentle: While she can be hotheaded and bossy at times, Amy is overall friendly to everyone around her.
Bubbly: Amy is rather energetic and chipper.
Compassionate: Amy shows amount of empathy towards innocent creatures and even to Gamma despite the latter being one of Dr. Eggman's robots.
Naive: While she isn't an idiot by any means, Amy has her moments of being overtly trusting to the point of being tricked and manipulated as well as being taken advantage of.
Has a Crush on Someone: Amy is highly infatuated with Sonic the Hedgehog to the point of obsession, much to his annoyance.
Optimistic: Despite her fair share of misfortunes, Amy is a highly cheerful girl.
Believes in the Power of Friendship/Love: Amy gains her strength from how she cares about her friends as well as her romantic feelings for Sonic.
Possesses Plot Armor: Amy manages to survive many dangers despite her lack of resources due to not being as superpowered as the majority of the cast.
Wears Bright Colors: Amy's dress, pair of shoes and headband are all red.
Bob-Cuts: Amy's quills are styled in a bob-cut.
Unnatural Hair Color: Hedgehogs cannot be naturally pink in real life.
Is a Crybaby: Amy has her moments of being quick to tears, especially when it comes to Sonic.
Magical: Sonic Frontiers gives her magical abilities based on her tarot cards. Not to mention that she has a super form in Sonic Origins and Sonic Superstars and was able to turn invisible in Sonic the Hedgehog (2006).
