Betty Barrett, also known as Atomic Betty is the main protagonist of the Canadian animated TV series of the same name.
What Makes Her a Shonen Heroine?[]
- Heroic: Will always do what she can to save everybody in need with her crew and putting that over all else, even her curricular and extracurricular activities or hanging out with friends.
- Kind/Gentle: Is kind to everyone, and despite disappearing to fight galactic forces of evil, still makes an effort to help her friends on Earth, despite only remembering it last minute.
- Bubbly: May qualify as this. She is not too energetic, but you do hear her make some chuckles at the end of various episodes due to some of her mischief.
- Compassionate: Her most shining moment of compassion is in the episode "The Great Sub-TRAIN-ean Robbery", where she still chose to considering save Admiral DeGill's brother, Sheriff Tex DeGill despite the possibilities of the Polydenim Hopper the Chopper was going to steal potentially making him an unstoppable force (though this is because she had a plan to both stop him and save Tex).
- Clumsy: Specifically in the episode "Once Bitten, Twice Slimed", where she tripped over a mouse and accidentally dropped the cake on Purrsy.
- Socially Awkward: Some episodes like "The Trouble with Triplets" show that there are situations she can't get out of hadn't it been for her friends intervening.
- Naive/Absent-Minded: Sometimes daydreams of her crush, Dylan, or about being in outer space. Oh, and don't forget Maximus has tricked her more than a few times in the show, though, she still manages to trick him back in the end. Also, one particularly absent-minded moment was in "The Substitute", where she wasn't able to tell the difference between the real Sparky and X-5 from a Blood Monk and Minimus.
- Has A Crush on Someone: She has a crush on Dylan.
- Optimistic: Doesn't let her spirits down (most of the time).
- Believes In The Power of Friendship: Would do anything to save her friends.
- Possesses Plot Armor: Some of Maximus' schemes fail because of Minimus' incompetence. Otherwise, Betty would not survive some of the situations she has been through, especially when she and her crew almost died by being sent to the sun in Evil Idol, but through deus ex machina, Beatrixo saved her and her crew.
- Has A Sweet Tooth: Does seem to like some sweet foods, like brownies in Cosmic Cake.
- Wears Bright Colors: Yellow in her civilian outfit and has a lot of white and pink in her Galactic Guardian outfit.
- Long Hair: Implied due to how much hair she has on her ponytail. Eventually confirmed as seen in one of her outfits in Beach Blanket Betty.
- Unnatural Hair Color: Red haired humans are hard to find.
- Insecure: Sometimes has low self-esteem at the start of many episodes, usually thanks to Penelope.
- Pacifistic: Mostly a pragmatic pacifist, due to how in some missions, like in "Maximus Displeasure", she uses guerilla tactics to avoid head-on confrontations with her enemies.
- Magical: As seen in Spindly Tam Kanushu, she has shown to have some mystic abilities and used them to locate the planet Maximus is on.
