Komaru Naegi

Komaru Naegi is the main protagonist of Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls. She is also the younger sister of Makoto Naegi, and the best friend of Toko Fukawa.

What Makes Her a Shojo Heroine?[]

  • Heroic/Honorable: Willingly accepts a fate of suffering to avoid breaking a controller that would kill numerous people if it would mean stopping the Warriors of Hope and stops Genocider Syo from killing Servant.
  • Kind/Gentle: Even in an environment where literally everything is trying to kill her, she's nothing but polite towards everyone she meets.
  • Compassionate: Shows sympathy for the warriors of hope even after all of the people they killed and even saves Nagisa from the Monokumas.
  • Naive: Thanks to being thrust into such a hostile environment, she's rather naive on almost everything she's forced to face.
  • Optimistic: Compared to the more cynical and grouchy Toko, Komaru is by contrast much more optimistic and hopeful even in the midst of being trapped in the middle of a post-apocalyptic world.
  • Determined: No matter what, she never gives up on her goal to escape the city and reunite with her brother.
  • Believes in the Power of Friendship/Love: Her friendship with Toko is able to bring out the kindness in both her and Genocider Syo, even influencing Toko to break the promise she made to Byakuya to help Komaru escape Towa City.
  • Bob-Cuts: She has short hair that just barely reaches her chin.
  • Insecure: She expresses discontentment with just being a "normal girl" and a perceived burden in the battles against the warriors of hope.
  • Pacifistic: While she will fight if the situation calls for it, she usually prefers to try and reason with her enemies first rather than jump head-first into attacking them.
  • Has an Idol: Literally, as she's a huge fan of the idol Sayaka Maizono.
  • Is a Cutie: A kind-hearted young girl who has an undeniable endearing charm in both appearance and personality.
  • Age 10-16: She's described as between the ages of 16 and 17.
