Marina is the tritagonist and lead female of the Pebble and the Penguin. Being Hubie's love interest, she is very devoted to Hubie and will do anything in the world to be with him. She is voiced by Annie Golden.
What Makes Her a Shojo Heroine?[]
- Heroic/Honorable: Although unsuccessful, she tried to run over to and revive Hubie after Drake knocked him out.
- Kind/Gentle: Marina, in general, is gentle, polite, loving, sweet, nurturing, motherly, open-minded, and affectionate. Her kindness is what makes Hubie genuinely fall in love with her.
- Compassionate: She deeply cares for Hubie right from the beginning. Marina ignores his flaws and instead focuses on his positive traits. Whenever he feels insecure, she always cheers him up.
- Has a Crush on Someone: She sees Hubie as her one true love. She is very devoted to him and will do anything in the world to be with him for the rest of her life.
- Innocent: Unlike the other females in the Rookery, she doesn't think a perfect pebble determines in winning a mate over, but rather the perfect penguin. She also has no corrupting qualities to speak of.
- Optimistic: In spite of the hardships, she manages to remain optimistic and never let her hopes diminish.
- Romantic: Marina never hides any romantic feelings for Hubie and always acts sweet, doting, and lovey-dovey to him, always being open to giving him romantic displays of affection.
- Is a Crybaby: One can interpret she began to cry after she sang about her hopes of Hubie returning home and as a result of growing lonely without him.
- Believes in the Power of Love: Her eternal love for Hubie is what allowed herself to believe Hubie is still alive and will come home for her in time for the Full Moon Mating Ceremony, as well as stand up for herself and to Drake.
- Possesses Plot Armor: Had Hubie not rescued her in time, she would've been forced to accept the evil Drake as her mate.
- Wears Bright Colors: She wears a pink rose hairpin adorned with fern green leaves and a lavender choker with a pink tourmaline jewel.
