Ochaco Uraraka, also known by her hero name, Uravity, is a major protagonist of the My Hero Academia franchise.
She is voiced by Ayane Sakura in the Japanese version of the anime, and by Luci Christian in the English version.
What Makes Her a Shojo Heroine?[]
- Heroic/Honorable: Uraraka plays a major role throughout the series in saving the world from All for One and is shown to take no pleasure in taking villains' lives.
- Kind/Gentle: Uraraka is incredibly polite and friendly towards everyone around her, including her enemies like Toga and Bakugo.
- Bubbly: Uraraka is very excitable and can be easily surprised, especially when luxury is involved.
- Compassionate: Uraraka shows great empathy towards Toga when she hears about her trauma from her past. She is also selfless since her goal is become a hero in order to help her family financially, and she even had to subvert this goal by realizing how important her job as a superhero is and vows to protect others instead, thus showing how she believes the people’s safety was more important than just getting money.
- Clumsy: Uraraka can have moments of moving or acting awkwardly back then, especially when her crush Deku was around.
- Socially Awkward: While overall extroverted, Uraraka is sometimes behaving awkwardly around Deku.
- Has a Crush on Someone: Uraraka has romantic feelings for Deku, and shows this through blushing and having flushed cheeks. In fact, she even tells this to Deku himself when she wanted to be his girlfriend (and this went well in My Hero Academia chapter #394)
- Optimistic: Despite her moments of depression, Uraraka still manages to maintain a positive attitude.
- Believes in the Power of Friendship: Uraraka highly values her friendship with Class 1-A and would immediately fight alongside them.
- Possesses Plot Armor: When Uraraka comes close to dying, Toga sacrifices herself to save her by transplanting her blood into her body.
- Wears Bright Colors: Uraraka's costume is mainly composed of pink and white.
- Bob-Cut: Uraraka's hair is styled in a bob-cut.
- Insecure: Uraraka used to be somewhat insecure about confessing her feelings to Deku before she finally confessed her feelings for him.
- Has an Idol: Uraraka appears to look up to Deku himself as her aspiration to becoming a heroine.
- Is a Cutie: Uraraka's haircut, cheery appearance and her bubbly behavior makes the cut.
