He is voiced by Tom Hulce.
What Makes Him a Shojo Hero?[]
- Heroic/Honorable: Quasimodo saves Paris from his sinister guardian Frollo, who attempts to execute his genocidal plan to kill all of the Romani people.
- Kind/Gentle: Quasimodo is pleasant towards everyone, going as far as attempting to save Frollo from his death despite his unforgivable deeds.
- Compassionate: Quasimodo shows great amount of empathy towards others.
- Clumsy: Quasimodo has his clumsy moment when he unintentionally finds himself in a tent with Esmeralda undressing.
- Socially Awkward: Due to spending 20 years of his life being confined to the bell tower with no human contact outside of Frollo, Quasimodo can be awkward when interacting with others and sometimes struggles with social cues.
- Naive: Due to his sheltered upbringing as well as being manipulated and deceived by Frollo, Quasimodo has a rather simplistic perception of certain aspects of life, including love.
- Has a Crush on Someone: Quasimodo fell in love with Esmeralda, but he eventually got over his feelings for her after seeing her kissing Phoebus and even gave them his blessing. In the sequel, he fell for Madellaine and ends up with her.
- Optimistic: Despite all of his hardships, Quasimodo manages to keep pursuing happiness in his life.
- Innocent: Quasimodo has a pure heart in spite of being raised by a cruel man and isolated from society for his deformities.
- Believes in the Power of Friendship/Love: Quasimodo demonstrates this belief when singing Heaven's Light. His love for Esmeralda is what gives him the determination to rescue her from execution.
- Possesses Plot Armor: If Phoebus didn't save him from falling into a pit of molten copper, Quasimodo would've died.
- Insecure: Due to being manipulated by Frollo into viewing himself as a monster because of his disfigured appearance, Quasimodo develops very low self-esteem.
- While he eventually freed himself from Frollo's toxic influence as a result of his friendship with Esmeralda and Phoebus, he still has his moments of self-doubt about not being able to find love in his life due to his deformities.
