Sugar fits this wiki more than Shonen Heroes, spice fits Shonen Heroes more than Shojo Heroes (although she does have some exclusive Shojo Hero Traits), and everything nice is in the middle. But nonetheless, they are all good candidates for both wikis.
What's The Work?[]
The Powerpuff Girls is a franchise from Cartoon Network about three kindergarten-aged superhero girls who save Townsville from the forces of evil.
Who Are They?[]
Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup are all superhero girls who attend school at Pokey Oaks Kindergarten but also have to fight the forces of evil.
What Makes Them Shojo Heroines?[]
- Heroic: All three girls have saved Townsville and sometimes the world from all sorts of villains like Mojo Jojo, HIM, Fuzzy, Morbucks, the Gangreen Gang, the Amoeba Boys, and more.
- Kind/Gentle: Even Buttercup started being less of a jerk in Season 6, and even before that season, she and the other girls would go out of their way to help the citizens of Townsville with their daily problems (for reference, Too Pooped To Puff) instead of just trying to save them from villains.
- Bubbly: All of them are energetic, especially in the movie.
- Compassionate: Even Buttercup shows remorse for her actions most of the time. Despite being a huge jerk in the earlier seasons of the show, she still shows standards against Mitch flushing twiggy down the toilet in Gettin' Twiggy with It. In another hamster-related moment of compassion for animals, even she knows that eating hamsters is messed up, as shown when she and Blossom thought Bubbles eats hamsters in Beat Your Greens and was terrified of the thought that she does eat them (although Bubbles eating hamsters is obviously false). And how about saving her sisters in Buttercrush?
- Clumsy: Although this is subverted, remember that the girls caused destruction in Townsville by playing tag, since they had no control over their powers.
- Socially Awkward: Blossom in The Mane Event, Bubbles in Bubblevicious and Bubblevision, and Buttercup in Down N Dirty and Cover Up are notable examples.
- Naive/Absent-Minded: If I remember correctly, Blossom is the only character whom this trait may not apply to. Buttercup was incredibly stupid in basic math in Divide and Conquer, and that was in one of the later episodes of the series too, and Bubbles... well, she is definitely the most naive. As a result, she's the easiest for HIM to emotionally manipulate.
- Has A Crush On Someone: Apparently the girls remember the time they sped up time to become teenagers. They meet the Rowdyruff Boys, who gave up a life of crime by this time and gained a crush on them. Bonus points to Buttercup for falling in love with Ace, and very early in the show too, since Buttercrush was Season 1 Episode 4a.
- Optimistic: All of them never give up on their lives, because, of course, they're just 5. Bubbles is the most optimistic of the group for sure, so bonus points to her.
- Innocent: Buttercup subverts not being this by Season 6. The rest were always innocent.
- Believes In The Power of Friendship/Love: Their love for everyone in Townsville motivates them to fight crime.
- Has A Sweet Tooth: The Season 3 episode Candy is Dandy is one of the biggest examples of the girls being this.
- Wear Bright Colors: All of the girls wear bright shades of red, blue, and green for Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup respectively.
- Pigtails/Long-Hair: Buttercup doesn't have this trait. Blossom, on the other hand, has long-hair, and Bubbles has pigtails.
- Unnatural Hair Color: Blossom exclusive. Ginger hair is the rarest hair color on Earth.
- Insecure: Bubbles is emotionally insecure, and Buttercup has an insecurity related to her blankie. And Blossom isn't excluded from this trait either, she has insecurities of failing a school test as shown in Power-Noia.
- Is A Crybaby: City of Frownsville anyone? Also, bonus points for Bubbles, she is the most qualified for this trope.
- Pacifistic: "THAT'S HOW YOU GET RID OF A MONSTERS YOU BIG FAT DOO DOO-BRAINED NINNIES!" - Bubbles after telling the monster in Three Girls and a Monster to leave.
- Furthermore, in the very first episode, Blossom doesn't want to use violence on the cockroach on the wall.
- For Buttercup, this trait definitely doesn't apply to her.
- Calls Out Attacks: If I remember correctly, this is Buttercup exclusive, as shown in Nuthin' Special. Not gonna list all of them, or else this would take up the entire proposal.
- "Inferno!"
- "Copycat!"
- "Aqua Velvie!"
- "Atomic Snot Rocket!"
- "Itsy Bitsy!"
- Magical: All girls' powers are based on Superman's powers. Plus, they have more powers outside of that too as shown in Nuthin' Special.
- Is A Cutie: They're considered cute by many.
